The Merger That Works

Before we can understand how Google Checkout and e-Commerce tie together we must first understand them individually.
In essence e-Commerce also know in the business world as the electronic market, is the buying and selling of products and services over the internet. Many different vendors, host and buyers use the World Wide Web and sometimes e-mail when necessary to contract business.
In today’s society a consumer purchasing a text book from Azamon.com is thought to be a simply transaction, but in actually there are many components involved. Not just buyer to seller, but the hosting website of the purchase, the processing center where the initial transaction was made, the bank that the funds are being transferred from to pay for the book, then back to the consumer when the merchandise is received. This is eCommerce in a nut shell. It is all parties involved.
As for Google Checkout the goal is to make everything as simple and secure as possible. The buyer’s personal information is stored in an encrypted fashion that when they are ready to purchase from a merchant who allows the Google checkout icon to be displayed on their web page buyers can purchase at participating stores at the click of a button.
Now we see how Google Checkout and eCommerce tie together. Both are web based which benefits the buyer by being protected from fraudulent use of personal information and sellers being able to increase sales by real-time transactions – Anytime day or night.

Look Inside the Chart

In today’s world where time is of the essence and when most retailers are closed by 9:00 p.m., internet shopping is the way to go. The doors are “never closed”.
But where do you start? With so many websites to choose from, is there an advantage to shopping with one particular retailer? Not necessarily, Google checkout offers many selections to choose from when it comes to a variety of retailers and services. In other words, whatever your heart’s desire, Google Checkout is there.
Google checkout identified by the speedy shopping chart icon has gained the upper hand by capturing the potential purchaser’s eye when they log into the merchant’s site. Google checkout ensures the buyer that this particular sites uses encryption technology that scrambles your personal information, such as your credit card number, address, and contact information as it travels through cyberspace.
Another perk from using Google Checkout is the fees. On an average Google’s fees are $3 less than PayPal, which can add up to a hefty piggy bank in a few months time if you are an avid internet shopper.
Personally I have never used Google Checkout, only PayPal and Amazon. But I think I may be clicking “add this to my chart” soon.

No Credit Card

Defining a new way of buying and selling product and services on the Internet, is Electronic Commerce, commonly know as e-commerce or eCommerce.
Google has taken the lead in this area of electronic checkout. Google Checkout is an online payment processing service provided by Google aimed at simplifying the process of paying for online purchases. Users store their credit or debit card and shipping information in their Google Account, so that they can purchase at participating stores at the click of a button. Google Checkout also offers fraud protection, as well a unified page for tracking purchases and their status. These online checkout services are excellent alternatives to customers who do not have or do not want credit cards. Plus, they are fast and convenient to use in essence, offering the equivalent of express checkout because returning users do not have to fill out any information, even if they are buying at a new store.
Alternative payment systems are expected to be used in 30 percent of online transactions by the year 2012. Examples of alternative payment systems include PayPal, Bill Me Latter, eBillMe and Google Checkout.
